DIG's Strict Orders for Election Preparedness and Crime Control
Bareilly DIG Ajay Kumar Sahani has issued stringent directives to senior police officials regarding upcoming election preparations and the law and order situation. In a significant review meeting held on Thursday, he engaged in detailed discussions with police officers from Bareilly, Badaun, Pilibhit, and Shahjahanpur districts.
DIG Sahani emphasized the timely completion of the transfer process and security arrangements in compliance with the Election Commission's guidelines. The meeting saw the DIG express strong displeasure over negligence found in resolving public grievances. Preliminary inquiries have been ordered against the station in-charges of Sunghadi and Madhotanda in Pilibhit, and Jalalabad, Kalan, and Tilhar police stations in Shahjahanpur for laxity in complaint resolution. Additionally, clarification has been sought from the Circle Officer of Jalalabad on this matter.
Focus on Crime Control and Digital Policing
DIG Ajay Kumar Sahani directed that crime control be given the highest priority. He stressed ensuring prompt action in cases of murder, robbery, and crimes against women. The DIG also ordered more effective monitoring of history-sheeters and acceleration of the process to seize property acquired through criminal activities by offenders.
With the aim of promoting digital policing, particular emphasis was placed on the swift resolution of pending investigations on the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) platform. The DIG also mandated vigilant monitoring of rumors and misinformation spread on social media to maintain communal harmony and prevent any unrest. Strict adherence to traffic rules and ensuring road safety under the 'Zero Fatality District' campaign were also highlighted.
Enhanced Security Measures for Festivals and Elections
In anticipation of upcoming festivals, directives were issued to further strengthen security arrangements and conduct thorough checks of explosive material shops. The primary objective of these strict instructions from the DIG is to consolidate the law and order situation in all four districts and ensure peaceful elections in an environment free from fear.
