Fake Milk Production Hub Busted in Dhangar Khedi, Mandsaur
Amidst growing concerns about milk purity in Madhya Pradesh's Mandsaur district, a significant raid was conducted in the village of Dhangar Khedi, Garoth tehsil. Police have registered a case against two brothers, Krishnapal Singh and Shivraj Singh, both sons of Badri Singh, for allegedly operating a fake milk production unit.
Equipment and a substantial quantity of suspicious materials used in the illicit manufacturing were confiscated from the accused's home and cattle shed. This operation has once again cast serious doubt on the lax oversight of food safety measures in the district. This marks the fourth such incident in the past four months, highlighting the spread of adulteration activities in the rural areas of the district.
Seized Materials Point to Elaborate Operation
During the police raid, a large quantity of materials, allegedly used in the preparation of fake milk, was recovered from the premises of Dhangar Khedi residents Krishnapal Singh and Shivraj Singh. The seized items include six sacks of milk powder (each weighing 25 kg), five tins of vegetable oil (15-liter capacity), fourteen empty tin cans, and an electronic filter mixer machine.
Additionally, a gas stove, an HP brand gas cylinder, and four sacks of urea were also confiscated. The administration stated that a thorough investigation into the seized materials and the entire case will provide concrete information about the process and the true nature of the ingredients used in making the counterfeit milk.
Concerns Over Food Safety Escalate
Despite recurring incidents, adulterators seem undeterred, posing a significant threat to the health of ordinary consumers. The continuous raids have failed to curb this illegal trade, increasing anxiety among the public. This development exposes the shortcomings in the government's food safety claims for the district, raising questions about the effectiveness of the system designed to deliver pure milk to consumers.
It remains to be seen what further steps the department will take in this case.
