Panchal Ghat in Farrukhabad Inspected for Kanwar Yatra, Emphasis on Security and Facilities

Preparation for Kanwar Yatra at Panchal Ghat

District Magistrate Dr. Ankur Lathar conducted a comprehensive inspection today at Farrukhabad's Panchal Ghat to prepare for the upcoming Shravan month Kanwar Yatra. The objective is to ensure the pilgrimage is conducted smoothly, safely, and in an organized manner. During the inspection, he instructed officials to give utmost priority to the convenience and security of the pilgrims.

The District Magistrate meticulously reviewed the arrangements made for the convenience of devotees at the Panchal Ghat on the Ganga River. Key aspects examined included security arrangements at the ghats, sanitation status, lighting, barricading, availability of drinking water, toilet facilities, deployment of medical services, functioning of the control room, and the presence of divers and water police. He directed the concerned officials to ensure that no pilgrim faces any inconvenience during the Kanwar Yatra and that all arrangements remain operational continuously.

Focus on Security and Sanitation

The District Magistrate specifically emphasized ensuring regular sanitation arrangements at the ghats. He ordered the deployment of an adequate number of sanitation workers, uninterrupted availability of drinking water, and the smooth functioning of the electricity system. Highlighting security as the top priority, he stated that adequate police forces and divers must be deployed at sensitive locations. He also stressed that all relevant departments should remain fully alert and prepared to handle any disaster situation.

Review of Traffic and Medical Arrangements

The District Magistrate also emphasized the effective implementation of the designated diversion plan to ensure smooth traffic management. He instructed officials to provide necessary information to pilgrims periodically to prevent any difficulties. Additionally, instructions were given to keep the medical teams, ambulances, and fire department fully alert and deployed to immediately address any emergency situation.

“The Kanwar Yatra is an important festival of faith, and the security and convenience of the pilgrims are the highest priorities for the district administration,” stated the District Magistrate. He urged all departments to work in coordination and ensure the successful completion of the yatra peacefully, safely, and in an organized manner, in line with the government’s vision.

Present during the inspection were Superintendent of Police Smt. Aarti Singh, Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue Arun Kumar Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police Girish Kumar Singh, City Magistrate Parul Tarar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sadar Sanjay Kumar, Block Development Officer Barhpur Dr. Farhana Khan, Executive Officer Municipality Vinod Kumar, District Panchayat Raj Officer Avinash Chandra, along with officials from various concerned departments and administrative officers.
