Diwali Preparations Underway in Guna
The administration in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district has issued directives to ensure comprehensive security and smooth traffic management for the upcoming Diwali festival. District Collector Kishore Kumar Kanyal conducted an impromptu inspection of Dussehra Maidan on Friday, providing guidelines to officials regarding safety standards for firecracker markets and organized parking for agricultural trolleys laden with produce.
Firecracker Market Safety Standards
Collector Kanyal emphasized that firecracker shops during Diwali will be established strictly adhering to prescribed safety norms. This includes maintaining adequate distances between each stall and ensuring essential arrangements like tin sheds. The objective is to mitigate the risk of potential accidents, such as fires, and guarantee the safety of both vendors and customers.
Facilitating Agricultural Trolley Movement
To prevent any inconvenience to farmers during the festival, special attention is being paid to the smooth movement of agricultural trolleys. The Collector has instructed the Mandi Secretary and PIU officials to identify and prepare a suitable location near the under-construction sports complex at Dussehra Maidan for the organized parking of these trolleys.
Traffic Management Measures
To streamline traffic management, separate entry and exit points will be designated for the trolleys. Additionally, a separate slope will be constructed to facilitate easier movement. The exit route will be connected to the main road via the Seed Corporation to ensure convenient access for farmers to the market. Directives have also been issued to install barricading as needed for traffic control.
Administrative Goals for Peaceful Celebrations
During this crucial inspection, District Panchayat CEO Abhishek Dubey, Tehsildar Mayank Tiwari, Traffic TI Ajay Pratap Singh, and other senior officials from the Mandi and Municipality were present. The administration's primary aim is to prevent any untoward incidents during Diwali and provide safe and better facilities to citizens and farmers. These security and traffic arrangements are expected to effectively control disarray during the festival and maintain a peaceful celebratory atmosphere in the city.
