Shri Durga Shankar Mishra, a retired IAS officer and former Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, recently served as the chief guest at the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) Bhopal. Addressing undergraduate students embarking on their academic journey for the 2026-27 year, Mishra encouraged them to view the current era as rich with potential.
He emphasized the pivotal role of India's youth in shaping the nation's ascent towards global manufacturing excellence. As India rapidly transitions into a manufacturing powerhouse, Mishra highlighted that these students are the future architects of a transformed India.
Six Pillars for Student Success
During the orientation program, Shri Mishra presented the Six Cs as essential tenets for holistic personality development and career advancement. These include Curiosity, Competence, Creativity, Communication, Character, and Contribution.
He strongly advocated for students to look beyond mere job acquisition, encouraging a pursuit of excellence in their chosen fields. Mishra also underscored the enduring importance of integrity and credibility, asserting they are as crucial for sustained success as professional expertise.
Balancing Technical Skills and Human Values
Reinforcing these key messages, Prof. C.C. Tripathi, the Director of NITTTR Bhopal, stressed the necessity of a well-rounded education. He stated that while mastering technical skills is paramount in today's competitive landscape, a student's development remains incomplete without a strong foundation in human values, honesty, and effective communication.
Prof. Tripathi advised the incoming cohort to cultivate adaptability and a commitment to lifelong learning. This continuous learning approach, he explained, is vital for remaining relevant and successful amidst a constantly evolving global environment.
Institute's Growth and Future Vision
The orientation also featured insights from Prof. Sanjay Agrawal, Dean of Academic Affairs. He provided attendees with a comprehensive overview of the institute's historical trajectory, its significant achievements to date, and its unwavering dedication to maintaining high standards in technical education.
The formal proceedings were expertly managed by Prof. Manish Bhargava. The event saw a strong turnout, with faculty members, institute officials, staff, and a large contingent of undergraduate students present. This marked a significant commencement for the students' academic careers at the NITTTR Bhopal campus.
