Pledge Ceremony Highlights National Unity Day at Madhav College
Gwalior | October 31, 2026 | The Cliff News - A special pledge ceremony was organized at Madhav College in Gwalior to commemorate National Unity Day. The event, held on the birth anniversary of the Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, aimed to promote public awareness of the nation's unity, integrity, sovereignty, and social harmony.
The program was conducted by the college's National Service Scheme (NSS) unit. Addressing the gathering, the Chairman of Madhya Bharat Shiksha Samiti, Prof. Rajendra Bandil, inspired the students and faculty to remain committed to the nation. He recalled Sardar Patel's historic contributions, stating that his strong will and foresight enabled the integration of various princely states, leading to India's emergence as a powerful nation.
Prof. Bandil emphasized that while individuals and society may change over time, dedication to moral values and national duties must always persist. The importance of moral and civic duties in nation-building was highlighted by the college Principal, Dr. Shiv Kumar Sharma, who urged students to be vigilant in fulfilling their duties and civic responsibilities. He stated that by prioritizing national interest in daily life, we can strengthen the country's internal security and foster brotherhood.
The Principal encouraged students to draw inspiration from Sardar Patel's life. During the event, college faculty, staff, and NSS volunteers took a pledge to preserve the nation's unity and integrity at all costs. A farewell was also given to the recently retired Mr. Attar Singh.
Prominent personalities present included Dr. Manoj Awasthi, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Pandey, and Dr. Sarita Dixit. The program was successfully coordinated by Dr. Mandakini Sharma, with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Manoj Awasthi. This event successfully fostered a sense of responsibility towards the nation among the youth and underscored the importance of unity.
