Environmental Awareness Drive at Madhav Mahavidyalaya
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit at Madhav Mahavidyalaya in Gwalior has initiated a significant awareness campaign focused on environmental protection. Seizing the auspicious occasion of Navratri, college volunteers not only pledged to abstain from plastic use themselves but also promoted its abandonment by distributing cloth bags among students.
The program was successfully executed under the capable leadership of senior program officers Dr. Sanjay Kumar Pandey and Dr. Sarita Dixit. During the campaign, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Pandey highlighted the grave threat posed by plastic to human society and nature.
He stated that the uncontrolled and careless use of single-use plastic, discarded as waste along with food items, is proving fatal for voiceless animals. He emphasized that protecting the lives of these mute creatures is the moral duty of every citizen, and renouncing plastic is essential for this purpose.
Call for Freedom from Single-Use Plastic
In her address, Dr. Sarita Dixit described liberation from single-use plastic as a celebration of true freedom. She stressed that this plastic is not only adversely affecting human health but also creating a severe crisis for the entire environment and living beings.
She underscored the importance of cleanliness, stating that by maintaining cleanliness in our surroundings, we can also protect ourselves from seasonal diseases. Several teachers and volunteers from the college actively participated in this awareness campaign.

Teachers such as Dr. Kaushalendra Awasthi, Dr. Prashant Sahu, Dr. Deepak Shinde, Dr. Deepti Narang, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Dr. Rupali Gokhale, and Vishnu Dilip Chauhan guided the volunteers.
