Engineering Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Maa Patishwari University

Balrampur | September 15, 2026. Maa Patishwari University in Balrampur vibrantly celebrated Indian Engineering Day on Tuesday to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. The event, organized by the university's School of Engineering and Technology, saw students participating in tree plantation drives to spread the message of environmental conservation.

Arpit Nigam, Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department, was the chief guest. Presiding over the event, university Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ravi Shankar Singh stated that engineering in the current era extends beyond mere technical proficiency; it has become a powerful medium for societal betterment by connecting with social concerns.

He emphasized that in the 21st century, the synergy of knowledge and wisdom is essential for utilizing technology to uplift human society. The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the importance of a multidisciplinary approach, predicting that disciplinary boundaries will blur in the future, and the appropriate application of technology will aid in building an inclusive society.

Essay Competition and Award Distribution

During the event, an essay competition was held, with 180 students from the university actively participating. Kadariya Bano secured the first position, Sunil Pal the second, and Priyanshi the third. All winners were honored with certificates and prizes.

Additionally, BCA student Rupesh received special recognition. The program was compered by Aakriti Vigya, while Dr. Ashutosh Kumar delivered the vote of thanks. The distinguished ceremony was attended by the university Registrar Parmanand Singh, faculty members from various departments, and a large number of students.
