Double Crime Solved in 24 Hours: Couple Robbed, Woman Assaulted in Guna; 5 Arrested

Couple Attacked Near Gadhair Village

Guna: The Guna police have successfully cracked a heinous crime within a mere 24 hours, arresting five individuals. The incident, which occurred in the Dharnavada police station area, involved the robbery of a young man and woman, and an attempted sexual assault on the woman.

Under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Mrs. Hitika Wasal, and adhering to a 'Zero Tolerance' policy, the recovered stolen items have also been seized. The crime involved a total of seven accused; five have been apprehended, while police teams are actively searching for the remaining two.

Attack Details and Police Intervention

The incident transpired on the night of July 30, 2026, as a young man and woman were returning from a temple on a motorcycle. Near the Reliance petrol pump close to Gadhair village, some miscreants intercepted them and forcibly took them into the roadside jungle. They then called their associates and assaulted both victims.

The assailants robbed them of their mobile phones, wallets, and other valuables. Subsequently, they attempted to gang-rape the woman. Fortunately, a passerby alerted Dial 112, prompting an immediate police response to the scene. The accused managed to flee upon seeing the police, narrowly averting a more tragic outcome for the woman.

Swift Action and SIT Formation

Following the report of this sensational incident, a case was registered at the Dharnavada police station under new sections of the Indian Penal Code: 115(2), 70(1), 127(1), and 310(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation commenced.

Given the gravity of the incident, Superintendent of Police Mrs. Hitika Wasal took the matter with utmost seriousness. She immediately formed distinct police teams, activating them to identify and apprehend the accused. Additionally, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted to probe the case and provided with necessary directives. The Superintendent of Police herself continuously monitored the entire operation.

Technical Evidence and Informant Network Lead to Arrests

Police teams conducted extensive searches in the forest area and potential hideouts to identify and apprehend the accused, utilizing technical evidence and informant networks. During these efforts, technical evidence, information from informants, and footage from various CCTV cameras were meticulously analyzed.

These efforts quickly led the police to successfully identify the accused. Following identification, police conducted planned raids in forest areas, their villages, and the residences of their relatives.

Arrested Accused and Recovered Goods

Displaying promptness and immense courage in difficult circumstances, the police team arrested the following five accused:

• Bablu son of Hiralal Banjara (Age 23 years), resident of Village Borkheda, Police Station Dharnavada.
• Chhotu son of Mangilal Banjara (Age 28 years), resident of Village Khajra, Police Station Raghougarh.
• Sardar son of Karma alias Karam Singh Banjara (Age 30 years), resident of Village Vinyaki, Police Station Raghougarh.
• Mahendra son of Gabba Banjara (Age 20 years), resident of Village Borkheda, Police Station Dharnavada.
• Dinesh son of Gabba Banjara (Age 28 years), resident of Village Borkheda, Police Station Dharnavada.

During interrogation, the arrested accused confessed to committing the crime. Based on their statements, the stolen mobile phones, wallets, and other items have been recovered and duly seized.

The prompt and successful action by Guna Police involved significant contributions from officers and personnel of the Kainth Police Station, Dharnavada Police Station, Raghougarh Police Station, Cyber Cell, Police Line, Kotwali Police Station, Fatehgarh Police Station, Aaron Police Station, and Bajrangarh Police Station, under the leadership of SDOP Raghougarh Mrs. Deepa Dodwe. This joint effort has instilled fear in the minds of criminals and strengthened the sense of security among the general public.
