District Magistrate Expresses Serious Concern Over Project Quality

Farrukhabad, September 15, 2026 - Farrukhabad District Magistrate Dr. Ankur Lather has voiced significant concern regarding the construction quality of government development projects exceeding ₹50 lakh currently underway in the district. During a crucial review meeting held at the Collectorate auditorium, he issued clear directives to officials and representatives of executing agencies.

All construction work must be completed in strict accordance with prescribed standards and quality benchmarks. The meeting included a detailed review of the current progress of various projects. The District Magistrate emphasized that any negligence or undue delay in construction activities will not be tolerated.

Emphasis on Timely Project Handover and Quality Materials

He also stressed the importance of expediting the handover of projects that have already been completed to ensure their benefits reach the general public promptly. It was strictly advised that the quality of construction materials used should not be compromised at any level. Failure to adhere to these directives may result in punitive actions.

Warning of Punitive Action for Poor Performance

The District Magistrate cautioned the executing agencies that if their work style does not improve despite the warning, the administration will initiate correspondence with the government for punitive actions, including termination of contracts. In this meeting, due to the absence of the Executive Engineer of the Tube Well Division without prior notification, disciplinary action as per rules was ordered against him.

Slow Progress in Gram Panchayat Maudha Demands Accountability

During the review, the progress of the under-construction festival hall in Gram Panchayat Maudha, under Block Mohammadabad, was found to be unsatisfactory. The District Magistrate instructed immediate action against the concerned executing agency and responsible officials. He also directed departmental officials to conduct regular site inspections of ongoing projects and ensure strict adherence to standards set by the government.

Key Officials Present, Deadline Enforcement Mandated

The meeting was attended by Chief Development Officer Vinod Kumar Gaud, District Development Officer Shyam Kumar Tiwari, Additional Superintendent of Police Girish Kumar Singh, Project Director DRDA Kapil Kumar, senior officials from various departments, and representatives of executing agencies. The District Magistrate concluded by issuing a stern directive to accelerate all pending works and ensure their completion within the stipulated deadlines without fail.
