The Cliff News | 5 August 2026

The Delhi government has announced a significant initiative to support Class 12 students from government and government-aided schools by providing free residential coaching for national engineering and medical entrance examinations, JEE and NEET respectively. This scholarship program aims to level the playing field for aspiring students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Selected students will benefit from a comprehensive one-year residential program at the Dakshana Foundation’s Pune campus in Maharashtra. The scholarship will encompass all essential aspects of their preparation, including expert coaching, food, and accommodation, alleviating financial burdens on families.

Eligibility and Selection Process

To be eligible for this opportunity, students must be currently enrolled in the science stream in Class 12 during the 2026-27 academic session and attending a government or government-aided school in Delhi.

The selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the Joint Dakshana Selection Test (JDST) 2027. This crucial examination is scheduled to be conducted in December 2026. Students interested in availing this scholarship must apply through the Dakshana Foundation’s scholarship portal.

Government Support for Future Aspirants

This program underscores the Delhi government's commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and empowering students to pursue higher education in prestigious institutions. By offering free, high-quality coaching, the government intends to nurture talent and ensure that financial constraints do not hinder students' aspirations.

The Directorate of Education, Delhi, has issued an official notice detailing the specifics of the scholarship program. This initiative is expected to provide a strong foundation for students aiming to crack highly competitive entrance exams like JEE and NEET, thereby contributing to a more equitable educational landscape.
