Unique Initiative Empowers Girls in Balrampur

In a distinctive move to foster respect, identity, and empowerment for girls, an innovative initiative has been launched in the Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh. The program, under the 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao' (Save the Daughter, Educate the Daughter) scheme, officially commenced on Tuesday, with the installation of nameplates bearing the names of girls on houses in the Sabzi Mandi ward of the municipal area.

The core objective of this campaign is to ensure daughters receive equal significance within their families and society. This special drive saw D.P. Singh Bais, representative of the President of Adarsh Nagar Palika Parishad, attend as the chief guest. Having a girl's name inscribed on the nameplate will not only highlight her presence in the household but also send a positive societal message that daughters are as important as sons.

During the event, Ward Councilor Anand Gupta, District Mission Coordinator of the Women Welfare Department Vishal Gupta, and office staff member Ajay Kumar Gautam were also present.

Honoring Daughters and Their Family Importance

Addressing the gathering, D.P. Singh Bais stated that daughters are the true strength of a family and the strong foundation of society. He emphasized that providing them with education, security, and equal opportunities is a collective responsibility for everyone.

He clarified that the success of schemes like 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao' solely depends on the positive changes observed in societal thinking.

Officials from the Women Welfare Department explained that this campaign aims to promote gender equality in the district and increase public awareness about the bright future and education of daughters. Originating from the Sabzi Mandi ward, this initiative is now being viewed as a significant step towards elevating the self-esteem of girls throughout the district.

This effort is expected to serve as an effective medium in securing the rightful place for girls in society and empowering them.
