Water Conservation Drive in Izatnagar Division
On the third day of the BRICS Sustainable Lifestyle Week, celebrated under India's BRICS Presidency, Northeast Railway's Izatnagar Division organized a special campaign focused on water conservation. The primary aim of this initiative was to raise awareness about the importance of every drop of water and to inspire railway staff and passengers to conserve it.
The program was conducted under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Ms. Veena Sinha. The campaign included awareness activities across various railway premises within the division. These events were held at prominent stations such as Kathgodam, Bareilly City, Pilibhit, Lal Kuan, Farrukhabad, and Kasganj, as well as at loco sheds.
At these locations, posters highlighting the significance of water conservation were displayed, and announcements were made, appealing to passengers to avoid wasting water. The campaign emphasized the importance of collective pledge and hygiene for water conservation.
During the event, housekeeping staff and railway employees took a pledge to use water judiciously in their workplaces. The railway administration has specifically directed attention towards the cleanliness of drinking water points. Employees have also been instructed to ensure immediate action is taken upon identifying any leakage in drinking water taps to prevent wastage of water.
Collective Effort for Water Conservation
Divisional Railway Manager Ms. Veena Sinha underscored the importance of water conservation, stating that it is the foundation of environmental protection and sustainable development. She emphasized that every individual must understand their responsibility to save water and that this message needs to be conveyed to all sections of society.
The railway administration's effort extends beyond railway premises, with a broader objective to promote a culture of water conservation within society through passengers. The campaign's core message, 'Water is Life, and every drop is precious,' is being disseminated to the public.
