Gormi Murder Case Solved: Police Apprehend Accused with Weapon

The police have apprehended the accused, who was found in possession of the weapon used in the crime.

During the arrest, police recovered a .315 bore country-made pistol, believed to be the murder weapon, along with a spent cartridge from the accused. This successful operation is being hailed as a major achievement in maintaining law and order in the region.

Investigation and Arrest

According to information received, a case was registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (Crime No. 381/26) based on a complaint filed concerning the murder that took place in the Gormi police station area on August 4. Given the gravity of the case, a special team was formed under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Verma, Additional Superintendent of Police Pradeep Patel, and SDOP Sanjay Kochcha.

The special investigation team commenced its work by leveraging technical evidence and crucial information obtained from informers. To capitalize on the leads, the team devised a plan for an ambush. This operation culminated on November 2, 2026, when the police team apprehended a suspicious individual near the Pratap Pura bridge.

Recovery and Judicial Custody

During a search, the .315 bore country-made pistol, allegedly used in the murder, was recovered from the suspect's possession. Additionally, a spent cartridge was also found with the accused. Following these recoveries, the police arrested the individual.

The arrested accused was presented before the court. After being remanded to judicial custody, the court has sent the accused to jail. The police are also conducting an in-depth investigation into other aspects of the case to ensure justice for the victim and to leave no stone unturned.
