Nanakeri Mandi Gridlock: MLA Stuck, Administration Faces Barbs
The Nanakeri Mandi gate in Guna, considered the city's busiest, was once again engulfed by a massive traffic jam on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026. Long queues of vehicles brought traffic to a complete standstill, causing significant inconvenience to the public.
Ironically, the local MLA, Pannalal Shakya, found his vehicle stuck in the same jam. When approached by onlookers about the traffic situation, he sharply criticized the district administration's traffic management system in his characteristic style.
MLA Shakya, with a smile, remarked that the officials know where the system is flawed. He added that despite suggestions for improvement, the situation remains unchanged. Pointing to the vehicles stranded in the jam, he sarcastically noted that the current arrangement is clear for all to see.
Demand for a Permanent Solution
When journalists raised the issue of the daily traffic jams, MLA Pannalal Shakya urged the District Collector to find a permanent solution for this route. He jokingly added that if daily congestion is resolved, how will the system gain attention, and a bit of disarray keeps the administration focused on the issue.
Daily Problem: Mandi Season and Uncontrolled Parking
Traffic jams at the Nanakeri Mandi gate have become a daily occurrence. Especially during the mandi season, the movement of heavy vehicles, the arbitrary actions of uncontrolled auto-rickshaw drivers, and haphazard parking exacerbate the problem.
Local residents have requested the administration to deploy a permanent traffic police force at this highly sensitive location to alleviate their daily ordeal.
