In Farrukhabad district, a distressing incident occurred at a Shiva temple in Tusaur village on the first Monday of the auspicious month of Sawan. A young woman, Komal, daughter of Bhupal Singh, reported her gold chain, weighing approximately two tolas, stolen while she was offering prayers and performing 'Jal Abhishek' (pouring water on the idol).

Komal, a resident of Tusaur village, filed a complaint at the Raje Pur police station. In her petition, she alleged that a priest, identified as Baba Ramgiri, and an unidentified young woman took advantage of the crowded temple premises to snatch her gold chain. According to the victim, she found the pendant of the chain at the scene, but the chain itself was gone.

Demand for CCTV Footage and Recovery

Following the incident, Komal's brother suggested an examination of the CCTV cameras installed at the temple to identify the culprits. However, it is alleged that Baba Ramgiri claimed the cameras were not functioning. The victim maintains that the cameras were operational and could hold crucial footage to aid in the identification of the perpetrators.

Komal has urged the police to conduct an impartial investigation, take strict action against the accused, and ensure the recovery of her valuable gold chain. The police are currently investigating the matter.

Police Investigation Underway

Responding to the complaint, Sub-Inspector Ashutosh Kumar, who is investigating the case, confirmed that the pendant of the gold chain has been recovered from the temple premises. He stated that a thorough review of the CCTV footage from the temple complex is in progress.

The police are diligently examining all facts, considering both the victim's allegations and the statements provided by the temple management. Further action in the case will be taken once the investigation is complete.
