Holistic Health Conclave Concludes in Indore, Discussions Center on Future of Integrated Medicine
The two-day 'National Holistic Health Conference' (Healthcon 2026) in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, concluded successfully, providing a common platform for significant discussions on the future of holistic health, yoga, natural medicine, and Indian medical systems. Over 1200 doctors, researchers, educators, and students from across the country participated in this national event, which proved to be a gateway to new possibilities in the health sector.
Emphasis on Holistic Health and Building a Healthy India
During the conference, special emphasis was placed on the role of yoga and natural medicine in building a 'Healthy India.' In the sessions on the second day, attending experts stressed the need to integrate these traditional medical practices with modern health approaches.
In the first session, Dr. Vivek Maheshwari explained the fundamental principles of Patanjali Yoga Sutras – tapas, svadhyaya, and Ishvara pranidhana – in simple language within the broader concept of yoga. Following this, Dr. Hemanshu Sharma from Pune highlighted the importance of health in the resolution of 'Viksit Bharat 2047,' presenting the contribution of natural medicine to holistic health with relevant data.

In this session, Dr. Pramila R. and Dr. Sadhana Daurnariya presented their lectures, while practical demonstrations of yogic purification techniques familiarized participants with the scientific basis of Indian yoga traditions.

In this context, Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day was also celebrated in a proud atmosphere, with special presentations dedicated to the state's rich culture and traditions. These cultural events added a festive color to the conference and provided participants with an opportunity to connect with the local culture.
A Step Towards Integration of AYUSH Practices
In the concluding session of the conference, organizers highlighted the achievements and future possibilities of the event. This national conference established new dimensions for research and mutual cooperation by bringing together all major AYUSH medical practices – Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy – on a single platform.
The aim of this integration was to make these practices an integral part of the integrated healthcare system. Several dignitaries were present on this occasion, including Dr. Raghavendra Sharma, Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Yoga Commission, Swami Dhira Gaur Das, Ashwini Verma, Dr. Hemant Sharma, Dr. Sudhira Chandel, Dr. Nisha Joshi, Anil Agarwal, Dr. Rita Sharma, Raunak Soni, Prem Dua, Shankar Laddha, and Manoj Verma.
