Traffic Police Launch Special Vehicle Checking Campaign

In an effort to ensure safe and smooth traffic management in Mahoba district, the traffic police have initiated a special vehicle checking campaign. This operation is being conducted under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Shashank Singh, focusing on taking effective action against vehicles fitted with modified silencers and those with illegal black films.

Focus on Traffic Rule Violations and Safety

The proactive stance of the traffic police towards road safety in Mahoba has once again been evident, with a primary focus on curbing traffic rule violations. Led by Traffic In-charge Sunil Kumar Singh, the traffic police team conducted intensive checking operations on major routes and intersections in the city. The main objective of this campaign is to curb vehicles that violate traffic rules.

Such campaigns not only help reduce noise pollution on the roads but also improve vehicle visibility, thereby reducing the likelihood of accidents. Superintendent of Police Shashank Singh, an IPS officer from the 2019 batch serving in Mahoba since March 30, 2026, has placed special emphasis on strengthening the traffic system.

Enforcement Actions Taken

During the intensive checking and enforcement drive, vehicles found with modified silencers had them removed. Similarly, illegal black films affixed to four-wheeler vehicles were also ordered to be taken off. This action was taken to ensure that vehicle drivers adhere to prescribed standards.

The excessive noise emanating from modified silencers is not only a nuisance to the general public but also increases the level of noise pollution, which is detrimental to health. Likewise, black films on vehicles obstruct visibility, especially during the night or in adverse weather conditions, impacting traffic safety.

Challans Issued for Rule Violations

The traffic police stopped vehicle drivers who violated rules during the campaign and took appropriate action. In addition to the removal of modified silencers and black films, challans were also issued against these drivers under traffic regulations. The aim of this process is to ensure that vehicle drivers comply with traffic rules and contribute to road safety.

Previously, on July 1, 2026, over 100 pressure horns and 13 modified silencers were seized and destroyed in a similar campaign in Mahoba, indicating that such violations are common here.

Appeal for Safe Traffic

Along with this campaign, the traffic police have appealed to vehicle drivers to use silencers that conform to prescribed standards and to avoid installing any kind of illegal black film. The police have warned that similar campaigns and strict actions will continue to be carried out against those who violate the rules in the future.

This campaign is considered a significant step towards improving road safety in Mahoba, aiming not only to enforce traffic rules but also to establish a quieter and safer environment by reducing noise and air pollution. Similar campaigns are also being conducted against illegal horns and modified silencers in other parts of the country, such as Lucknow and Jammu, highlighting the widespread nature of this problem.
