Three Notorious Thieves Apprehended After Encounter in Mahoba, Two Escape

Police Encounter Leads to Arrest of Inter-District Thieves

In a significant development in Mahoba district, police have successfully apprehended three inter-district thieves following a fierce encounter. The exchange of gunfire occurred near the village of Rivai in the Mahobaknth police station area. A joint operation by the Mahobaknth police and the district's Special Operations Group (SOG) had been underway to solve a series of four house burglaries reported in Lilwa village recently.

Gunfight and Arrests

Acting on a tip-off from an informant, the police team laid a siege near Rivai village. Upon spotting the approaching police, the suspects opened fire. In self-defense, the police returned fire, resulting in one of the criminals sustaining a gunshot wound to the leg. During the ensuing operation, the police managed to apprehend a total of three accused.

The arrested thieves were found in possession of a substantial amount of cash, a country-made pistol, live cartridges, mobile phones, and a Bullet motorcycle. Authorities stated that the injured suspect faces approximately two dozen criminal cases across various police stations, including charges of theft and robbery.

Ongoing Search for Absconders

Legal proceedings have been initiated against the apprehended individuals. The search for the two absconding culprits has been intensified, with raids being conducted at their suspected hideouts. Officials have hailed the operation as a major success for the joint police team's efforts against criminal elements.
