Tragic Accident in Balrampur Claims Three Lives
Balrampur | October 18, 2026 - A devastating road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Balrampur district resulted in the tragic deaths of three people and left seven others injured. The incident occurred in the Charangahiya Belha village, under the Kotwali Dehat police station, when an out-of-control, high-speed vehicle struck a group of people watching a video behind a makeshift screen by the roadside.
Following the accident, a pall of sorrow has descended upon the entire region. The seven critically injured individuals were immediately rushed to the district hospital. Despite intensive medical efforts, three individuals succumbed to their injuries during treatment.
CM Expresses Condolences, Announces Compensation
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep sorrow over the road accident. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased.
The Chief Minister has issued directives to provide financial assistance of ₹2 lakh to the dependents of each deceased. Additionally, an amount of ₹50,000 has been announced for the better treatment of those injured in the accident, ensuring no obstacles arise in their medical care.
Officials Visit Site, Assess Situation
Given the gravity of the incident, Sadar MLA Paltu Ram, District Magistrate Vipin Kumar Jain, and Superintendent of Police Martand Singh visited the accident site immediately. MLA Paltu Ram visited the district hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured and wished them a speedy recovery. He also visited the post-mortem house to offer solace to the families of the deceased and assured them of diligent legal proceedings in the matter.
Local representatives have also expressed deep grief over the incident and pledged to provide all possible assistance to the affected families. Currently, the injured are receiving treatment at the hospital, and the administration is closely monitoring the situation.
