Bhopal – Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarkaryawah Dattatreya Hosabale has urged a profound internal introspection within Hindu society, emphasizing the urgent need to reject caste prejudice and untouchability to foster true national unity. Addressing an estimated 30,000 volunteers at Bhopal’s Lal Parade Ground, Hosabale highlighted social harmony, the dignity of labor, and the organization’s centenary-year initiative, the Panch Parivartan, as central themes.

Hosabale described casteism and untouchability as significant societal blemishes. He asserted that achieving social harmony requires not just external dialogue but a deep internal self-correction among individuals. He drew parallels with the teachings of historical figures like Sant Ravidas, Kabir, and Narayana Guru, underscoring that India's civilizational heritage intrinsically promotes equality and compassion.

Internal Correction and Equality

The senior RSS functionary stressed that societal hierarchies must be transcended to recognize a common consciousness uniting all living beings. This perspective, he explained, is fundamental to building a cohesive society. Hosabale articulated that Hindutva should be understood as a unifying cultural force, rather than a restrictive identity. He strongly advocated for the practical implementation of the principle “Hindavah Sodara Sarve” (all Indic people are brothers) to dismantle caste-based arrogance and the abhorrent practice of untouchability.

Dignity of Labour and National Strength

Furthermore, Hosabale underscored the critical importance of the dignity of labor in fortifying the nation. He made it clear that no profession should be considered inferior, as each contributes to the collective well-being. The remarks came during discussions focused on the organization’s ongoing centenary-year activities and its vision for national development.

The role of an RSS volunteer, as conveyed in the Bhopal address, extends significantly beyond organizational membership. Volunteers are encouraged to be proactive agents of change, focusing on addressing poverty, supporting educational initiatives, and standing in solidarity with disadvantaged communities. The Panch Parivartan framework aims to encourage awareness in families, promote environmental protection, and foster civic responsibility among citizens.

Nation Building as a Collective Endeavor

Concluding his address, Hosabale emphasized that nation-building is a shared responsibility demanding active participation from all citizens. He urged volunteers to transition from passive observation to robust engagement in societal betterment. The RSS movement, through fostering mutual trust and reducing social distance, aims to ensure that no individual feels marginalized, thereby strengthening the nation's collective identity and purpose.
