Old Workers' Neglect Sparks Controversy in Deori Congress

Deori | November 4, 2026 - The issue of neglecting long-serving, loyal party workers within the Congress organization in the Deori assembly constituency has intensified. Youth Congress Assembly President Shubham Sharma has questioned the disregard for the contributions of dedicated leaders who have been striving for the Congress party for approximately 35 years, even in adverse circumstances.

Sharma further demanded accountability from those within the organization who question the loyalty of these dedicated individuals. He directly challenged the political allegiance of leaders such as Sunil Jain, Indrajit Namdev, Kamlesh Guru, Honi Jain, and Kamlesh Jain Dhannu.

Sharma sought clarification on their affiliations during the assembly elections held between 1998 and 2023, alleging that individuals who have supported independent candidates or candidates from other political parties at various junctures are now involved in Deori's politics. He emphasized that demonstrating loyalty to other parties while remaining in one is inappropriate, and true dedication to the party is proven not just by words, but by the responsibilities undertaken during challenging times.

Prioritizing Contributions of Loyal Workers

The Youth Congress Assembly President, Shubham Sharma, stressed that the Congress party is not the property of any individual but the result of the tireless efforts of thousands of workers who have remained steadfast even during difficult periods.

He urged responsible leaders within the organization to give utmost priority to the experience and contributions of old and loyal workers to further strengthen the party. Sharma reiterated that the future of Congress is not secured by positions but by the unwavering struggle and integrity of its dedicated workers.
