Rishi Galav University to Plant 5,000 Saplings in Grand Event on August 1

Massive Plantation Drive at Rishi Galav University: 'Vrikshotsav-2026'

The Central India Educational Society will host 'Vrikshotsav-2026' at the Rishi Galav University campus in Bela village, Gwalior, on Saturday, August 1. The ambitious goal of this grand event is to plant over 5,000 saplings in a mere two-hour timeframe.

Organizers claim this will be the first-of-its-kind initiative in Gwalior, where such a large-scale tree plantation will be undertaken by a single institution in such a short period. This massive event is poised to be a significant step towards environmental conservation, with prominent figures from education, religion, government, and administration participating to set a unique example through their labor.

Distinguished Participants to Grace the Event

The esteemed list of attendees for 'Vrikshotsav' includes notable personalities such as Baba Lakkha Singh, Baba Gurpreet Singh, Municipal Commissioner Sangh Priya Gautam, MLA Satish Singh Sikarwar, Mayor Smt. Shobha Sikarwar, Chamber of Commerce President Praveen Agarwal, Swami Samarth Teerth Maharaj, Swami Ramsevak Das Ji, Swami Abhay Katyayan, Swami Krishnanand Ji, former MLA Praveen Pathak, Vice-Chancellor of Jiwaji University Prof. Rajkumar Acharya, Vice-Chancellor of Maharaja Mansingh Sangeet University Prof. Smita Sahastrabuddhe, Vice-Chancellor of Amity University Dr. Rajesh Singh Tomar, Vice-Chancellor of ITM University Dr. Yogesh Upadhyay, and Superintendent of Police Dharmveer Singh Yadav, along with many other distinguished citizens.

Extensive Preparations for Plantation

The university administration has completed all necessary arrangements for the plantation drive. Arrangements for 5,000 saplings have been made, and a comprehensive plan for digging pits, providing manure, and ensuring proper irrigation is in place. Efforts will be made to ensure the smooth execution of the plantation work.

Dr. Sunil Pathak and Dr. Sanjay Pandey, in charge of the plantation drive, stated that 'Vrikshotsav-2026' is not just a one-day event but part of a long-term initiative fostering an emotional connection with nature and promoting environmental conservation. They urged city residents, teachers, students, the monastic community, and all citizens to actively participate in this green campaign.

The university has prioritized the preservation of the planted saplings. To this end, an 'Environment Friendly Department' has been established, and special staff have been appointed for the year-round care of the plants.
