Preparations Underway for National Lok Adalat

The Naugaon Nagar Palika Parishad in Madhya Pradesh has intensified its preparations for the upcoming National Lok Adalat, aiming to boost revenue collection. A special meeting was held at the Council Hall, where Chief Municipal Officer Basant Choubey directed all ward in-charges to expedite tax recovery targets.

Interest Waivers and Recovery Incentives Announced

Revenue In-charge Vishwajit Singh Chauhan clarified that during the National Lok Adalat, special interest rate concessions will be provided to defaulters of property tax and water tax. This initiative is designed to encourage taxpayers to clear their outstanding dues.

Employee Motivation Scheme Launched

To boost staff morale and enhance the effectiveness of the recovery process, the municipality has introduced a unique incentive scheme. The ward in-charge who achieves the best tax recovery will be awarded a special prize by the municipality. While tax collection is a duty for every employee, this incentive aims to foster greater engagement in this critical task.

Meeting Attendees and Support

Several other supporting staff members were present at the meeting, including Revenue In-charges Akhand Pratap Singh, Rai Bihar Kushwaha, Akhilesh Rawat, Premchand Mishra, and Water Tax In-charge Chaturbhuj Patel. Ruparam Vishwakarma provided significant support as a supervisor throughout the proceedings.

Expectation of Taxpayer Participation

The municipal administration anticipates that the active participation of taxpayers in the upcoming Lok Adalat will help achieve revenue targets within the stipulated timeframe. All in-charges have been instructed to contact taxpayers in their respective wards and inform them about the concessions available at the Lok Adalat, ensuring they can benefit from this opportunity.
