National Blood Donation Camp in Ayodhya: Over 250 donors from 20 states contribute 204 units of blood

Social Unity and Service Flourish in Ayodhya

The holy land of Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, recently witnessed an unprecedented display of social unity and service spirit. The two-day national blood donation camp and National Service Ratna Honour Ceremony-2026, held at HR Palace in Darshan Nagar, saw over 250 blood donors from approximately 20 states and 60 districts of Uttar Pradesh. These dedicated individuals made invaluable contributions to humanity.

A significant total of 204 units of blood were successfully collected during this grand event, marking a crucial step towards saving the lives of those in need. The initiative was jointly organized by Ram Krishna Seva Foundation, Major Dhyan Chand Khel Utthan Samiti, and Maa Annapurna Seva Sansthan.

Dedicated Donors Inspire Many

A unique feature of the camp was the active participation of regular blood donors. Alok Agarwal, a member of the organization's advisory board, inspired others by donating blood for the 41st time. Similarly, Ravi Kumar Gupta from Balrampur, donating for the 21st time, and Vaibhav Tripathi, donating for the 46th time, showcased their unwavering dedication to service.

These personal achievements further highlighted the importance of blood donation. 10 government blood bank teams were responsible for blood collection during the camp, ensuring the comfort of donors through their tireless efforts.

Blood Banks and Contributions

Balrampur Blood Bank played a leading role by donating the highest amount of blood, collecting 36 units. Additionally, Swaroop Rani Medical College, Prayagraj, collected 27 units; RML Hospital, Lucknow, collected 24 units; Sultanpur collected 21 units; Ayodhya collected 20 units; KGMU, Lucknow, collected 17 units; Shravasti and Gonda each collected 16 units; Basti collected 15 units; and Ambedkar Nagar collected 12 units. This collective effort demonstrated how various organizations can unite to achieve a common goal.

Comprehensive Event Outline

The National Blood Donation Festival commenced on September 10th with a painting and Rangoli competition, fostering creativity and a spirit of service among the youth. The following day, September 11th, an awareness rally was organized to dispel myths about blood donation and emphasize its importance in society.

The main highlight of the camp took place on September 12th and 13th, featuring the blood donation drive alongside the National Service Ratna Honour Ceremony. Thousands of people witnessed this noble cause over these two days.

Guests Emphasize the Significance of Donation

Distinguished guests and dignitaries, including Prof. Dr. Rajesh Chaturvedi, Principal of Medical College Balrampur; Ved Prakash Gupta, MLA Ayodhya Nagar; former minister Tej Narayan Pandey ‘Pawan Pandey’; Mayor Girishpati Tripathi; Maharani Dr. Anju Singh; and Prof. Dr. Anshu Mishra, attended the event. In their addresses, they highlighted blood donation as the greatest and most effective means of saving human lives.

They called upon all sections of society to donate blood regularly to meet blood shortages during emergencies.

The guests lauded the efforts of the organizers and blood donors.

Honour and Gratitude

On this historic occasion, all participants who donated blood at the camp were honored with angavastras, mementos, and certificates of appreciation for their selfless contributions. This recognition symbolized gratitude for their spirit of service.

At the successful conclusion of the program, Aakash Gupta, President of Ram Krishna Seva Foundation, along with General Secretary Vijay Verma and Patron Rajesh Chaube, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the medical teams, collaborators, volunteers, and especially the blood donors. They stated that the event successfully highlighted the importance of blood donation by bringing donors from across the country onto a single platform, and such events will continue in the future.
