Narsinghpur City Ablaze with Light for Prime Minister's Birthday
On Thursday, September 17, 2026, Narsinghpur city witnessed a grand 'Deepotsav' (Festival of Lights) as part of the Service and Resolve Campaign, dedicated to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday. The event bathed the entire city in the glow of lamps, symbolizing wishes for the Prime Minister's good health, long life, and continued service to the nation.
This celebration also served as a platform to highlight dedication and a spirit of service towards the nation. The lighting of diyas commenced at 6:30 PM from the 'Jal Mandir' and continued late into the night. Thousands of lamps were lit at prominent locations including the Bada Mahadev Temple, Ramlala Temple in Deendayal Park, Balbatpura Chowk Temple, and various other major statues and intersections across the city.
At the 'Jal Mandir', a special 'Diya of Blessings' was lit for the Prime Minister's longevity and his dedication to national service, reaffirming the resolve for service, dedication, and nation-building. During the event, all attendees expressed their commitment to the country's progress under the Prime Minister's leadership.
Citizen Participation and Festive Atmosphere
The Municipal Administration played an active role in ensuring this celebration reached every household. Under the guidance of Municipal CMO Abhishek Jain, approximately twenty thousand diyas were distributed to citizens through Anganwadi workers. This initiative proved highly successful, creating an enthusiastic festival-like atmosphere throughout the city.
Citizens voluntarily lit these diyas, extending their wishes for the Prime Minister's long life. Lighting ceremonies were also successfully held at other important sites, including Shahid Smarak School, where community members united to celebrate this national occasion.
Cultural and Administrative Participation
The special event saw the presence of several dignitaries, including regional MLA Mohan Sharma, एसडीएम Ajay Pratap Singh, Tehsildar Anrik Kanotiya, Janpad CEO Prabal Pratap Ajariya, along with numerous BJP officials, public representatives, and senior officers. Their presence further enhanced the dignity of the program.
Organized through the collective efforts of the Municipal Council and BJP workers, the event was largely attended by local citizens and women, who demonstrated their patriotism by lighting diyas. The vibrant festivities continued late into the night, concluding with a fireworks display that further enlivened the atmosphere and brought smiles to everyone's faces. This occasion served as a symbol of mutual harmony and national unity.
