Narmadapuram Collector Inspects Dairy Breeding Centre, Issues Directives

Centre Inspection and Animal Welfare Focus

Under the 'Seva Sankalp' and 'Mukhyamantri Jan Vishwas Abhiyan' initiatives, Narmadapuram Collector Somesh Mishra conducted a surprise inspection of the National Dairy Breeding Centre in Itarsi on September 19, 2026. He sought details on the livestock population and thoroughly reviewed the current arrangements at the facility.

The primary objective of the Collector's visit was to review the health, upkeep, and available facilities for the animals. During the inspection, Collector Mishra issued strict instructions to the centre's officials, emphasizing that there should be no compromise on the nutritional levels of the livestock. He made it clear that providing fodder and feed to all animals according to their prescribed diet charts is mandatory.

Drainage System Improvements Mandated

The Collector took a serious view of the waterlogging issue near the dairy complex and issued immediate instructions to the concerned officials on-site to ensure proper drainage arrangements. Collector Mishra stressed that waterlogging not only negatively impacts animal health but can also disrupt the overall functioning of the centre.

Animal Care and Future Oversight

During his inspection, Collector Somesh Mishra performed traditional worship of the cattle and personally fed them green fodder. He underscored the importance of ensuring all necessary arrangements for the conservation and better care of the animals. The inspection was attended by District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Himanshu Jain, SDM Itarsi Nilesh Sharma, and officials and staff from various departments.

The administration has stated that continuous inspections of the dairy centre's arrangements will be carried out in the future to ensure smooth operations.
