Drainage Restored After Encroachments Removed

Narmadapuram Municipality (Napa) on Friday took swift action to resolve a waterlogging issue at the Vakratund Complex by deploying a JCB to demolish permanent encroachments and restore smooth drainage. The civic body administration is on high alert regarding sanitation and drainage systems during the monsoon season.

Anurag Tiwari, Nodal Officer for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission), stated that permanent structures had been built by some individuals on the main drain of Vakratund Complex, completely obstructing water flow. This not only caused sanitation problems but also disrupted daily life.

Prompt Action Following Citizen Complaints

Acting immediately upon receiving complaints from local citizens and under the strict directives of Narmadapuram Municipality Chairperson Neetu Mahendra Yadav and Chief Municipal Officer Vaibhav Deshmukh, a joint team from the sanitation and revenue departments arrived at the scene.

Encroachments Removed, Drainage Reinstated

Following an inspection, the permanent encroachments were removed using a JCB machine. This action has restarted the stalled drainage in the complex area, effectively solving the waterlogging problem. ARI Sheikh Akbar Khan from the revenue branch and his entire team were present and ensured the successful completion of the operation.

The Napa team is working in a special alert mode to keep the city clean and free from waterlogging during the rainy days. Immediate action is being ensured wherever waterlogging is reported. Such prompt action has brought relief to citizens and boosted the sanitation campaign.
