Power Crisis Grips Banvirkhedi, Surrounding Villages

Villagers in the Aaron region, specifically from Banvirkhedi and several neighboring villages, staged a two-hour protest at the Electricity Department office on Monday against the abysmal power supply situation. Residents are reportedly receiving only four hours of electricity daily, a stark contrast to the ten-hour supply promised by the department.

This severe shortage is causing immense hardship for both farmers and general citizens, disrupting daily life. Issues such as broken power lines, low voltage, and unscheduled power cuts have plagued the region, also impacting development work. Complaints are also being received from villages including Sagabarkheda, Boodhadogar, Araskheda, Ramgir Khurd, and Barod.

Years of Unreliable Supply and Growing Frustration

Residents of these villages have been grappling with an unreliable power supply for years. Despite repeated appeals to local administration and the Electricity Department, the lack of a permanent solution has fueled significant discontent and tested the patience of the villagers.

Daily Struggles with Unannounced Cuts and Low Voltage

Many villages in the Aaron area have been suffering from unannounced power cuts and low voltage for an extended period. Residents of Banvirkhedi reported receiving only four hours of electricity daily, despite the Electricity Department's written assurance of a 10-hour supply.

These unscheduled cuts are proving devastating for farmers whose irrigation activities are severely affected. Furthermore, low voltage is causing damage to household appliances, leading to additional financial burdens for the residents. This situation is not confined to Banvirkhedi but is prevalent in surrounding villages like Sagabarkheda, Boodhadogar, Araskheda, Ramgir Khurd, and Barod.

Despite persistent contact with the department, the absence of a lasting solution is escalating the anger among the villagers.

Absent Officials Fuel Further Outrage During Protest

The situation worsened when a group of villagers, carrying their grievances, arrived at the Electricity Department's office in Aaron. Their frustration and anger intensified upon finding that no responsible official was present at the office to hear their problems or offer solutions.

The absence of any official at the scene led villagers to question whether the department was taking their issues seriously. This perceived indifference from the department only fueled the villagers' fury, pushing their anger to an all-time high.

Phone Discussion Leads to Assurance of Swift Resolution

Finally, acknowledging the escalating public anger, a responsible official from the department engaged in a phone conversation with a villager acting as an intermediary. During the call, the villagers detailed all their problems and difficulties to the official.

The official listened attentively and assured them that all power-related issues would be resolved as soon as possible. He further stated that the department was taking the matter seriously and would take necessary steps to address the concerns.

Threat of Stronger Action If Promises Unfulfilled

While the villagers have accepted the official's assurance, underlying skepticism remains. They have issued a clear warning that if prompt and permanent improvements are not seen in the power supply system, they will be compelled to undertake stronger forms of protest.

Their demand is for the department to move beyond mere assurances and implement tangible improvements in electricity supply quality and put an end to unscheduled power cuts. The villagers seek a permanent solution to ensure their daily lives, especially agricultural activities, can proceed smoothly without the constant uncertainty of power availability.
