Suspicious Individual at Midnight, Death Threats Issued

ETAH | SAFAI | July 31, 2026 | A sensational incident has emerged from the Saifai police station area in Etah district, Uttar Pradesh, where a resident has alleged that a suspicious person arrived at his doorstep midnight on May 9, 2026, and threatened to kill him. The complainant, Sughar Singh, has lodged a written complaint at the Saifai police station, demanding action against an unidentified vehicle and mobile phone user.

CCTV Captures Suspicious Activities

According to the complaint, around 2:06 AM on the night of May 9, 2026, a suspicious four-wheeler stopped in front of Sughar Singh's house. CCTV footage shows the vehicle heading towards Karhal Road. Shortly after, an unidentified person emerged from the vehicle and approached the house, attempting to force open the gate by banging loudly. The man was heard shouting that some people were chasing him and pleaded to be rescued, urgently requesting the gate be opened.

The complainant stated that the individual's actions seemed suspicious from the outset, as no one appeared to be chasing him from the direction he arrived. However, upon noticing the CCTV camera installed outside the house, the person abruptly became quiet and moved away, avoiding the camera's view. The entire incident was reportedly captured by the home's CCTV camera.

Sughar Singh emphasized that his house is located approximately 100 meters from the police station. He argued that if the individual were genuinely in distress, he would have approached the police station first rather than seeking help at his private residence, making the situation even more questionable.

Allegations of Social Media Harassment and Threats

In his complaint, Sughar Singh also alleged that he had been receiving continuous abusive comments, insults, and death threats through social media. He further claimed to have been threatened with being falsely implicated in a case under serious sections of the law.

Concerned for his safety, he shared the home's CCTV footage on Facebook in an attempt to identify the suspicious individual, hoping someone would recognize him and provide information. This action was taken to seek help in identifying the person responsible for the alleged threats.

Call from Unknown Number Claiming to be a Journalist's Brother

The complaint details that on the evening of May 10, 2026, he received two calls from an unknown number on his mobile phone (around 6:50 PM and 8:49 PM). The caller, according to the complainant, used abusive language, identified himself as a journalist's brother, and claimed to be the same person who had appeared at his house the previous night.

The complainant stated that the caller further threatened that had the gate been opened that night, he would have been murdered. The caller's demeanor during the conversation was described as highly aggressive and threatening.

Journalist Denies Brother; Suspicion Deepens

Sughar Singh contacted the journalist in question to inquire about the matter. However, the journalist denied having any such brother. Following this denial, Sughar Singh's suspicion grew that the caller was attempting to intimidate and threaten him while concealing his true identity.

He suspects that the unknown individual who appeared at his home and the person who made the threatening phone calls might be the same individual. This further fueled his concerns about his personal safety and security.

Demand for Fair Investigation and Security

Based on these circumstances, complainant Sughar Singh has urged the police to register a case against the unidentified vehicle, the unknown mobile phone user, and any other individuals involved in the incident, and to conduct a fair investigation. He requested a thorough examination of the CCTV footage and call details, along with immediate security for himself and his family.

The complainant stated that since this incident, his entire family has been living under a cloud of fear and insecurity. At present, these are all allegations made by Sughar Singh in his police complaint. The veracity of the matter will only become clear after the police investigation, analysis of CCTV footage, and examination of other available evidence. All eyes are now on the police's investigation and subsequent actions.
