Myanmar Nationals Held at Katihar Railway Station
Four suspected Myanmar nationals, including a young man and three minors, were apprehended by RPF and police at Katihar Junction.

Authorities at Katihar Railway Station have detained four individuals suspected of being citizens of Myanmar. The apprehension was made by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the local police, who intercepted the group upon their arrival via a major express train.
The detained individuals include a 24-year-old man identified as Mohammed Noor, along with three minor girls. They were apprehended on Platform Number 1 of Katihar Junction.
Arrival on Northeast Express
The group disembarked from the North East Superfast Express (Train No. 12505), which travels from Kamakhya to Anand Vihar. Preliminary investigations suggest they were en route to Jammu.
During the apprehension, officials recovered a mobile phone, Indian currency amounting to ₹220, and Bangladeshi currency totaling 1,090 Taka. Crucially, none of the detained individuals possessed any valid travel documents such as passports, visas, or citizenship certificates for India.
Legal Proceedings and Child Welfare
Mohammed Noor has been taken into judicial custody after a case was registered against him at the railway police station. The three minor girls have been handed over to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) for their care and further proceedings.
Initial interrogations indicate the group intended to travel to Jammu from their point of origin. Authorities are now focused on determining their entry route into India and investigating any potential involvement of trafficking or smuggling rackets.
