Muzaffarpur Sets Record: 100% SOP Evidence for PBL Implementation Uploaded on DIKSHA

Muzaffarpur Achieves Unprecedented Educational Milestone

The Muzaffarpur district has achieved a groundbreaking feat in education. By successfully uploading 100% of the evidence for the state government's Project Based Learning (PBL) based Micro Improvement Project on the DIKSHA app, the district has not only set a record but also presented a new model of operational methodology for the entire state of Bihar. This success is a result of the robust implementation of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) based working across the district's 1,386 primary schools.

Project Objectives and Methodology

This project is being implemented with the objective of making Mathematics and Science more effective, activity-based, and experiential for students in grades 6 to 8. Under this initiative, teachers execute the project in schools according to monthly lesson plans and upload the evidence on the DIKSHA app every month. To ensure the successful and quality implementation of this project, Muzaffarpur developed a comprehensive SOP for the first time in Bihar.

SOP Development and Role Delineation

The development of this new SOP, including role determination, was undertaken by Keshav Kumar, a member of the District Technical Team, and Kumar Abhishek, a member of the District Technical Team, under the guidance of Sujit Kumar Das, the then District Program Officer (Primary Education and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan), Bihar Education Project, Muzaffarpur. The SOP clearly defined the roles and responsibilities of all relevant stakeholders, from the school level to the district level. This detailed plan created a strong framework for project implementation and monitoring, which proved to be the foundation for this historic success.

Historic Success and Collective Effort

In July 2026, Muzaffarpur district succeeded in uploading 100% of the evidence for the PBL based Micro Improvement Project in all 1,386 schools, adopting this SOP. This achievement is the result of the collective and dedicated efforts of the District Technical Team, Block Technical Teams, School Principals, and Mathematics-Science teachers. Keshav Kumar attributed this success to the guidance of the district administration, the continuous monitoring by the district and block technical teams, and the unwavering dedication of the school principals and teachers.

Appreciation and Future Direction

The support and guidance of the newly appointed District Program Officer (Primary Education and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan), Muzaffarpur, Ayush Kumar, and District Education Coordinator Manoj Kumar, along with District Technical Team Lead Kumar Abhishek, were particularly appreciated. Keshav Kumar also expressed gratitude to the other members of the District Technical Team, all members of the Block Technical Teams, all school principals in the district, and the Mathematics-Science teachers. Their coordinated efforts, regular monitoring, and team spirit made this significant success possible. The standard set by Muzaffarpur with this SOP-based operational methodology will serve as a source of inspiration for other districts in the state in the future.
