Major Operation Against Illicit Liquor in Madhya Pradesh

In a significant move against the illegal manufacturing, transportation, and smuggling of liquor across the state, Madhya Pradesh Police have conducted a major operation. This intensified campaign has led to substantial seizures in Indore and Chhatarpur districts, with illicit liquor valued at over ₹1.31 crore confiscated.

During these operations, police also seized two trucks, one car, and one motorcycle that were being used for smuggling purposes. Information from the Police Headquarters indicates that the police are consistently undertaking well-planned actions to effectively curb the illicit liquor trade within the state. It was under this directive that the police in Indore and Chhatarpur achieved this significant success based on information received from informants.

₹11 Million Worth of Liquor Recovered in Indore

Acting on a tip-off regarding the transportation of illicit liquor, the Kanadiya Police Station in Indore district took swift action, exposing a gang. Police have arrested five individuals and seized 927 crates containing a total of 11,124 liters of illegal liquor. Additionally, a truck and a car used for transporting the illicit liquor were also impounded.

The estimated total value of the seized assets is approximately ₹1.10 crore.

₹2.1 Million Seized in Chhatarpur

Meanwhile, in Chhatarpur district, the Gulgaj Police Station established a blockade near the Kathan River bridge on Tikamgarh Road and apprehended a truck laden with illicit liquor. In this operation, police arrested two individuals and recovered 125 crates, amounting to 1,125 liters of illegal Indian-made foreign liquor.

The assets seized in this operation, including the truck used for smuggling, are valued at approximately ₹21 lakh. Legal proceedings are being initiated against the arrested individuals under the Excise Act.

One Arrested in Maihar

In a related development, the Tala Police Station in Maihar district also carried out an effective operation against illicit liquor smuggling. Police seized 61.380 liters of illegal liquor and a motorcycle used in the smuggling, with an estimated value of around ₹50,000. One accused has been arrested in this case.

Madhya Pradesh Police have reiterated their commitment to continuing similar strict and effective actions against those involved in the manufacturing, transportation, and smuggling of illicit liquor in the future.
