The third day of the basic literacy and numeracy training held in the Mirganj development block of Bareilly was dedicated to mathematical innovations and new teaching techniques. This session specifically trained teachers on the complex concept of 'regrouping' (carrying over) in mathematics.
Dharmveer, a member of the State Resource Group (SRG), clarified this subject through simple and engaging activities, aimed at helping teachers effectively convey it to primary-level students. The training's primary objective is to strengthen teachers' subject matter understanding to enhance children's basic literacy and numerical knowledge.
Activity-Based Learning in Mathematics
SRG member Dharmveer utilized various teaching materials and practical activities to demonstrate how mathematical concepts can be made enjoyable for primary-level children. Teachers actively participated in these activity-based learning methods and learned how to implement these innovations in their classrooms.
Emphasis on Innovation in Math Teaching
The training session was also attended by members of the ARP (Academic Resource Person) team: Kumud Kant Yadav, Arvind, Sachin Murari Sharma, Poonam Devi, and Rajesh Kumar. Additionally, LLF (Learning Literacy Fellowship) Block Coordinator Shabana Khan and teachers from the seventh and eighth batches of the training were part of this session. All participants enriched themselves with modern and effective methods of mathematics teaching, fostering expectations of improved academic quality in classrooms.

At the conclusion of the training, all teachers pledged to implement the newly learned techniques in their respective schools.
