Major Operation Uncovers Stash in Mehargaon

In a significant action under the special campaign against illicit liquor, the excise department has made a major recovery in Itarsi town, Narmadapuram district. During a search of a vacant house in the Mehargaon area, the team seized a substantial amount of illegal liquor, causing panic among the local illicit liquor mafia.

Campaign Directed by District Collector

The ongoing operation is being conducted under the directives issued by District Collector Somesh Mishra and the guidance of District Excise Officer Dr. Rajiv Prasad Dwivedi. Following these instructions, the Itarsi excise team raided a closed house in Mehargaon.

Substantial Quantity Recovered

Upon searching the premises, a total of 272.43 bulk liters of liquor were confiscated. Efforts are currently underway to identify and apprehend the accused responsible for this illegal trade. A case has been registered under the Excise Act, and the search for the perpetrator continues.

Legal Action and Ongoing Crackdown

A case has been registered under sections 34(1)(a) and 34(2) of the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act, 1915, in connection with this successful operation. The entire operation was carried out under the able leadership of Excise Sub-Inspector Vrat Prabhari and Assistant District Excise Officer RP Ahirwar, with significant contributions from Head Constables Rajesh Gaur, Durgesh Patharia, and Constables Bhavna and Sarika.

Department Vows Strict Enforcement

The District Excise Officer has stated that the campaign against the sale and trade of illicit liquor will continue unabated. The department has assured that stringent legal action will be taken against those found involved in such activities, instilling fear among individuals engaged in the illegal liquor business.
