Mandi Commissioner Inspects Berasia Market, Hears Farmers' Concerns

Market Commissioner Reviews Berasia Mandi Operations, Gathers Farmer Feedback
Shri Kumar Purushottam, Commissioner-cum-Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Agricultural Marketing (Mandi) Board, conducted an unannounced inspection of the Berasia agricultural produce market in Bhopal district on Friday. During the visit, he thoroughly reviewed the facilities and arrangements available to farmers, as well as the market's overall functioning.
Shri Purushottam engaged directly with farmers, traders, porters, and weighers within the market premises to listen to their problems and suggestions. He emphasized that providing transparent, accessible, and quality services to farmers is the Mandi Board's top priority, and all operations should be conducted with a farmer-centric approach.
Detailed Market Assessment
As part of the inspection, the Commissioner examined various sections of the market offices. He then inspected the laboratory set up in the e-NAM (Electronic National Agriculture Market) section and the functioning of the e-Mandi system, expressing satisfaction with their operations.
He also inspected the farmer rest house, park, garden, and other civic amenities located within the market complex. The Commissioner-cum-Managing Director visited the auction shed, CC roads, toilets, and the under-construction grading and cleaning plant. He also inspected the designated location for a 10-metric ton capacity electronic weighing scale.
Reviewing the canteen operating under the farmer meal arrangement, he gathered information from farmers regarding the facilities. Shri Purushottam expressed satisfaction with the DVI information broadcasting system installed in the market, the e-Mandi system operating at the entrance gate, and the cleanliness and sanitation arrangements in the complex.
He also observed the presence of market staff and security guards in proper dress code and discussed daily tasks and arrangements with the employees.
Progress Review of New Fruit and Vegetable Market
At the conclusion of the inspection, Shri Kumar Purushottam also inspected the proposed new fruit and vegetable market yard. He reviewed the progress of ongoing development works there and issued necessary directives.
Present during this significant inspection were Berasia MLA Shri Vishnu Khatri, Joint Director of Bhopal Division Smt. Savita Jhania, Superintending Engineer Shri Madhukar Panwar, Executive Engineer Shri S.C. Goyal, Tehsildar Berasia Smt. Durga Patle, Secretary of Berasia Agricultural Produce Market Committee Shri Sunil Kumar Bhalekar, along with other officials and staff from the Mandi Board and Market Committee.
