Warehouse Inspection Uncovers Discrepancies

A surprise inspection at the double-lock fertilizer warehouse in Bagheri, Guna district, has revealed large-scale irregularities. A group of farmers, led by Farmer Congress District President Chandrajeet Singh Yadav, found a significant difference between the recorded stock and the actual availability of fertilizers.

During the inspection on September 21, 2026, a substantial stock of 2,000 bags of DAP and 26,000 bags of Urea was found in the warehouse. However, the management had failed to update this stock on the online portal. On paper, the DAP stock was listed as only 1,618 bags, while the farmers' count confirmed 2,000 bags.

Farmer Outrage Over Stock Discrepancy

The discrepancy of approximately 400 bags of DAP has caused significant anger among farmers, especially considering the difficulties local farmers are facing in obtaining fertilizer. The farmers' delegation accused the warehouse management of not only failing to maintain accurate stock records but also of a missing new lot of fertilizer, despite older brands being available.

The farmers' group alleged that the warehouse was not only failing to keep track of stock but that a new lot of fertilizer was missing, even though older brands were available.

Farmers Issue Warning and Demand Action

In response to this serious negligence, the Farmer Congress President immediately contacted the District Marketing Officer to inform them of the gravity of the situation. He issued a stern warning: if the correct data is not updated on the portal by 10 AM the following day, farmers will be forced to stage an indefinite protest.

The farmers clarified that this negligence, which directly impacts the future of the Kharif crops, will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and an account of every bag of fertilizer will be demanded. Bamori Block President Tilwinder Singh and Backward Class President Nandraj Meena were also present during the inspection. The District Marketing Officer has assured the farmers that the portal will be updated by the following morning.
