Mahoba: Married Woman Dies by Suicide Under Mysterious Circumstances, Police Investigating

Woman Found Hanging in Mahoba Village

A married woman in the Tikariya village of Mahoba district's Ajanr police station area has ended her life by hanging herself. The incident occurred late on Thursday evening.

The deceased, identified as Imarti, the approximately 22-year-old wife of Jagat Singh, is believed to have taken this drastic step when no one else was at home. Her family members had gone to the fields, and were shocked upon returning to find her hanging from a fan hook.

Police Launch Investigation

Upon receiving information about the incident, the police promptly arrived at the scene. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to the Mahoba District Hospital.

Station House Officer of Ajanr police station, Radheshyam Singh, stated that a police team reached Tikariya village immediately after being notified. The preliminary investigation suggests that this is a case of suicide.

Family Notified, Further Action Pending

The deceased's father-in-law, Karan Singh, informed both the local police and Imarti's maternal family. It has been confirmed that Imarti's marriage to Jagat Singh took place on July 11, 2024.

Members of the maternal family have also arrived in Tikariya upon learning of the incident. While they have reached the scene, no formal written complaint or statement has been submitted to the police yet. The SHO added that further legal proceedings will be determined by the post-mortem report and any statement provided by the maternal family. The police are thoroughly investigating all aspects to ascertain the true reasons behind the incident.
