Cyber Crime Prevention Awareness Drive in Mahoba

In compliance with the directives of the Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (Cyber Crime), a large-scale campaign was conducted on Wednesday in the Ajner police station area of Mahoba district. The primary objective of this campaign was to prevent cyber crimes and raise public awareness.

The police team from Ajner Police Station led the initiative, focusing on sensitizing residents to various types of online scams. The campaign provided detailed information on digital fraud to village heads, public service center operators, women, children, and other residents of the area.

Educating Citizens on Digital Fraud

Police specifically explained methods used in cybercrimes such as digital arrest, fake investment fraud, fraudulent loan apps, and attacks via APK files. The aim was to equip citizens with the knowledge to identify and avoid these threats.

• Use strong passwords.
• Use public Wi-Fi with caution.

Attendees were also advised not to trust suspicious links, calls, or investment proposals without thorough verification. This proactive approach aims to reduce the number of victims of cyber fraud in the region.

Helpline and Reporting Procedures

During the campaign, police emphasized the importance of immediate action if one becomes a victim of cybercrime. For financial cybercrimes, citizens were urged to contact the national cyber helpline number 1930 immediately.

Information was also provided on how to file online complaints through the official website www.cybercrime.gov.in. The Ajner Police Station appealed to citizens to report any suspicion of cyber fraud without delay for swift action.
