Registration for Kharif Crops at MSP Opens

The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to commence the farmer registration process for the purchase of Kharif crops like paddy, jowar, and bajra at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the Kharif marketing year 2026-27 starting September 15.

Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput has urged farmers to complete this registration process mandatorily by October 10 to avail the benefits of government procurement. Over 1100 centers have been established across the state to facilitate a smooth registration process for farmers.

Registration Centers and Fees

These centers are categorized into two types: free and paid. Farmers can register free of charge at Gram Panchayats, Janpad Panchayats, Tehsil offices, and cooperative societies.

However, farmers opting to register through MP Online kiosks, Common Service Centers, or Cyber Cafes will be required to pay a fee of Rs 50 per registration.

Special Registration for Specific Farmer Categories

The state government has specifically limited the registration facility for sharecroppers (who give a share of the crop), tenant farmers, Kotwars, and forest leaseholders to cooperative societies.

The registration of these farmers will be verified by the Revenue Department to ensure they properly receive the benefits of government schemes.

Mandatory Aadhaar Linking for Payments

To ensure transparency and convenience in crop payments, it has been made mandatory for farmers' bank accounts to be linked with Aadhaar.

Farmers will need to provide their bank account number and IFSC code during registration. It has also been clarified that inactive, joint, or bank accounts linked to special digital wallets will not be valid.

Farmers are advised to keep their Aadhaar number linked to their mobile number and bank account to facilitate the payment process. The State Supply Corporation will ensure payment transparency by conducting a Rs 1 transaction during registration.

Aadhaar Verification and Land Record Matching

Aadhaar verification will be mandatory for farmers in both the registration and crop sale stages. This process will be completed via OTP (One-Time Password) or biometric devices.

If any discrepancy is found between the farmer's land records and the name registered in their Aadhaar card, they will have to get it verified from the Tehsil office.

District Collectors have been instructed to ensure that Aadhaar centers remain functional so that farmers do not face any problems in updating their biometric data. The government has also ensured that information about this process reaches as many farmers as possible.

Notifications will be sent via SMS, notice boards will be displayed in Gram Panchayats, and banners will be put up in the mandis. The aim of these measures is to ensure that no eligible farmer is left out of the registration process. All concerned officials have been given strict instructions to complete this entire process efficiently within the stipulated deadlines.
