Drug-Free Life Pledge at Madhav College

In Gwalior, a special program focused on drug de-addiction was organized at Madhav College under the guidance of the Regional Directorate of the National Service Scheme (NSS) for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Government of India. The health walk run, themed 'My Health, My Pride,' aimed to inspire youth and the general public to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

The marathon, commencing from Mahadaji Nagar and concluding in Kedarpur, saw enthusiastic participation from over three hundred NSS volunteers. Key figures present included Dr. Ashul Srivastava, member of the Hindi Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and Dr. Shiv Kumar Sharma, Principal of Madhav College.

Youth Power and Nation Building

In his address, Dr. Ashul Srivastava emphasized that youth are the cornerstone of any nation. He stated that the country's future can only be secure and bright if the youth remain healthy, disciplined, and aware. He described 'My Health, My Pride' not just as a slogan, but as a firm commitment to living a healthy life.

The event was flagged off by Dr. Harishankar Kasana, NSS Coordinator of Jiwaji University, Dr. Manoj Awasthi, District Organizer, and Dharmendra Verma, Commandant of SDRF, who jointly initiated the awareness rally.

Awareness Through Street Plays and Signature Campaigns

To spread the message of drug de-addiction far and wide, volunteers engaged in signature campaigns and street plays. Several college professors and members of the NSS unit actively participated, raising awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse in society.

This run, held as part of the 'Drug-Free Developed India Hundred Weeks' program, delivered a crucial message to local citizens about staying away from drugs. This initiative by Madhav College proved to be an effective step towards bringing about positive change in society and integrating youth into the mainstream of nation-building.

A large number of students took a pledge not only to refrain from drugs themselves but also to take responsibility for making society aware of this menace.
