Khargone Municipality Achieves Target of Planting 50,051 Saplings

Milestone Achieved in Greening Campaign
The Khargone Municipality Council celebrated a significant achievement on Monday as it successfully met its target of planting 50,051 saplings. This milestone was reached when Health Officer Prakash Chitte and his wife planted 51 saplings at the Meladheshwar Shivdham.
Diverse Saplings Planted
The occasion saw the planting of 51 saplings of various species, including Belpatra, Sami, Amla, Parijat, and Kadali, within the Shivdham premises. This planting is part of the municipality's larger goal to plant a total of 81,000 saplings this year.
Environmental Commitment
According to municipality officials, the remaining saplings will be planted during the monsoon season to ensure the target is met within the stipulated timeframe. Health Officer Prakash Chitte emphasized the importance of environmental conservation, stating that every citizen must play an active role. He highlighted that trees are the sole means of providing clean air and healthy lives for future generations.
Community Participation
The sapling plantation program was attended by municipality employees, health department staff, and local citizens, demonstrating a collective commitment to the environment. This campaign is expected to not only promote urban greenery but also strengthen the local ecosystem.
