Municipality Takes Stern Action on Railway Premises Filth

The Kareli Municipality Council has initiated a rigorous crackdown on the persistent garbage problem plaguing the railway premises located behind the Gurudwara. The administration has begun imposing a one thousand rupee fine on shopkeepers who litter public spaces and has also installed cameras for round-the-clock surveillance.

This decisive move aims to beautify the town and alleviate the inconvenience faced by travelers and local residents. The railway premises had long been a dumping ground for local shopkeepers and residents, leading to foul odors and significant distress for station visitors and area patrons.

Previous attempts by the municipality administration to address the issue through advisories and alternative arrangements proved ineffective. Following this sustained neglect, the administration has now opted for stringent measures.

Strict Surveillance and Camera Installation

To rectify the situation, the municipality has deployed its staff for 24-hour monitoring of the railway premises and other public areas. Modern cameras have also been installed to identify and effectively track antisocial elements engaged in littering.

These cameras are instrumental in catching offenders in the act, allowing for immediate action in accordance with regulations. The administration's goal is to make Kareli completely clean and is seeking cooperation from local residents.

Fines and Future Actions

During the recent crackdown, shopkeepers found littering public areas were levied a fine of one thousand rupees. The municipality administration has made it clear that this punitive action is not a one-off event and will continue in the future.

Any individual found discarding garbage in the railway premises or other public spots will face substantial fines as per the rules. The municipality's initiative has brought relief to local travelers and residents, who now anticipate a halt to the long-standing issue of filth.

Appeal for Citizen Cooperation

Under the guidance of Municipality President Mrs. Sushila Mamar, the cleanliness drive is gaining momentum. The administration believes that the active participation of citizens is crucial for maintaining a clean and beautiful city.

Littering in public spaces tarnishes the city's image, and rectifying this is a collective responsibility of every citizen. Municipality officer Shrikant Pater, leading this campaign, has instructed staff to take strict action against those violating cleanliness rules, without discrimination.

He also informed that garbage collection vehicles are regularly dispatched to various wards of the city. Citizens are strongly urged to dispose of their wet and dry waste into the municipality-operated garbage trucks, rather than throwing it outside their homes or shops, in drains, or in vacant plots.

The administration has issued a warning stating that any person violating these rules will be subject to action under punitive provisions. The municipality aims to achieve total cleanliness in Kareli, and expects the cooperation of local residents in this endeavor.

In the coming days, the administration is preparing to demonstrate greater proactivity across the entire city regarding compliance with cleanliness regulations.
