Illegal Gas Refilling Racket Uncovered in Fatehgarh

An illegal gas refilling racket was busted on the night of August 5, 2026, in the Fatehgarh area of Farrukhabad. Acting on information from the District Supply Officer, a joint team of the Supply Department and police raided Mohalla Kasaratta.

The team, arriving at the scene around 9 PM, found Arvind Kumar Saxena and shop owner Rajendra Kumar Saxena present. A search revealed four domestic gas cylinders in one room, three filled and one empty, along with a refilling device. Additionally, five more domestic gas cylinders were found near the main entrance of the shop: two filled and three empty.

Action Against Illegal Storage and Refilling

During the investigation, the accused failed to produce any valid documents or permits related to gas refilling. For safety reasons, all five filled and four empty gas cylinders, along with the refiller, were deposited at the nearest gas godown. Notably, no fire-fighting equipment was found at the scene, indicating a severe disregard for safety standards.

The District Supply Officer stated that such illegal storage, refilling, and trading of domestic gas cylinders is a clear violation of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order, 2000. This act constitutes a punishable offense under Section 3/7 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.

Case Registered on District Magistrate's Orders

Following explicit orders from the District Magistrate, a case has been registered against both accused, Arvind Kumar Saxena and Rajendra Kumar Saxena, under the relevant sections at Kotwali Fatehgarh. Further investigation and necessary legal action are underway.
