Judicial Functions Emphasize Hindi Language Use

A special program was organized at the District and Sessions Judge Court premises in Mirzapur on the occasion of Hindi Diwas, September 14, 2026. The primary objective of this event was to encourage the use of the Hindi language in judicial proceedings and to strengthen the sense of respect and pride towards it.

The event specifically focused on how Hindi, India's official language, can make the judicial system more accessible and transparent. Present at the ceremony were District Judge Anupam Kumar, Principal Judge Family Court Sanjay Kumar Shukla, Chief Judicial Magistrate Rahul Kumar Singh, and Secretary District Legal Services Authority Anand Kumar-II, among other judicial officers.

All distinguished officers presented poems, memoirs, and their thoughts related to the Hindi language. Through these presentations, the simplicity, ease, and deep connection of Hindi with the general public were highlighted. Speakers shed light on how the Hindi language, due to its wide reach and comprehension, can make ordinary citizens feel more confident and participatory in the justice process.

Role of Hindi in Making Justice Accessible

Sharing their experiences, officials emphasized that Hindi is not just a medium of communication but a powerful expression of our culture and emotions. A simple and accessible language holds special importance in the field of justice.

“When the language of justice is the language of the common citizen, obtaining justice becomes less intimidating and more natural for them,” stated District Judge Anupam Kumar in his address. He stressed that the use of Hindi will facilitate smooth communication between judges, lawyers, and litigants, thereby increasing the speed and accuracy of the judicial process.

Principal Judge Family Court Sanjay Kumar Shukla explained with examples how, in family courts where emotional issues are prevalent, the gentleness and sense of belonging associated with Hindi help litigants express themselves freely. Chief Judicial Magistrate Rahul Kumar Singh mentioned that the translation and use of documents in Hindi, especially for people in rural areas, simplifies access to information.

He stated, “It is our responsibility to ensure that the right to justice is not snatched away from anyone solely due to a language barrier.” Secretary District Legal Services Authority Anand Kumar-II highlighted that most people seeking legal aid are Hindi speakers, making the provision of legal advice and services in Hindi extremely necessary for their assistance.

The thoughts shared during the program created an atmosphere of camaraderie and vibrancy within the court premises. The entire event was successfully conducted by Civil Judge (Junior Division)/FTC Abhishek Singh. He expressed gratitude to all the judicial officers present at the end of the program, stating, “Today’s event is not just a formality but a concrete effort towards ensuring Hindi gets its rightful place in judicial proceedings.”
