NSS Day Celebrated with Special Cleanliness Drive at Gwalior Fort

The Cliff News | Gwalior | September 24, 2026 - On the occasion of National Service Scheme (NSS) Day, volunteers from Madhav College organized a special cleanliness campaign at the historic Gwalior Fort.

Through this initiative, the youth not only cleaned the historical monuments by contributing labour at the Mansingh Palace complex but also promoted the spirit of national service and civic responsibility in society. This campaign was conducted with the aim of making the youth aware of social responsibilities and understanding the importance of preserving historical sites.

The volunteers carried out cleaning work in various parts of the fort and motivated tourists and local citizens to maintain the dignity of the heritage sites. The presence of college officials and former volunteers at this important event included the college principal Dr. Shiv Kumar Sharma, senior program officer Dr. Sanjay Kumar Pandey, and program officer Dr. Sarita Dixit, who participated directly. Alongside them, former program officer Dr. Deepak Shinde and former volunteers Aniruddh Sharma, Dilip Chauhan, and Garima Jha also attended, boosting the students' morale.

Emphasis on Youth's Role in Heritage Conservation

During the program, guests emphasized in their addresses that the National Service Scheme is a powerful medium for connecting youth with discipline and social responsibility.
