Gwalior Embraces Mobile Immersion Units for Ganesh Visarjan, Protecting Water Bodies

Pollution-Free Water Bodies Initiative Launched

In a unique effort to keep water sources in Gwalior city pollution-free, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Madhav Mahavidyalaya has undertaken a cleanliness drive during Ganesh Visarjan. The primary objective is to prevent immersion in large water bodies and ensure the safety of aquatic life.

Mobile Immersion Units Spearhead Environmental Protection

In collaboration with the district administration and the municipal corporation, temporary ponds were utilized at Katora Tal for the event. Under the leadership of senior program officer Dr. Sanjay Kumar Pandey, NSS volunteers continued a tradition spanning fifteen years. This campaign specifically aims to reduce water pollution caused by Ganesh idol immersion, protecting aquatic life in ponds and other water bodies.

Youth Contribute to Environmental Conservation

This year, the youth once again made an invaluable contribution to this significant environmental conservation work. Students from Madhav Mahavidyalaya enthusiastically participated in this year's cleanliness campaign, demonstrating their active role in environmental protection. Volunteers including Dr. Prashant Sahu, Ujjwal Gupta, Ankit Tiwari, Krishn Rajak, Dishant Prajapati, Sumit Rajak, Ashok, and Deepak Banjara played a crucial role in the initiative's success.

Inter-College Collaboration for a Greener Cause

Additionally, volunteers Kumari Mini Kushwaha and Garima Jha from Parvati Bai Gokhale Science College also lent their support to this noble cause. All participants collectively conveyed a message of environmental protection and pledged to raise public awareness in this direction.

Organized with the support of the district administration, this campaign can serve as a source of inspiration not only for Gwalior city but also for other metropolitan areas.
