Grand Finale to Ganesh Festival in Balrampur, Bappa Bid Farewell Amid Chants

Ganesh Festival Culminates in Balrampur with Grand Immersion Procession

Balrampur city marked the grand conclusion of its Ganesh Mahotsav on Monday with a magnificent immersion procession. The city resonated with chants of 'Ganpati Bappa Moriya' throughout the day as devotees, amidst showers of coloured powder and DJ music, invited their beloved Bappa back for the next year.

This year's festival saw enthusiastic participation from both youth and women. The tenth annual Ganesh Mahotsav was formally inaugurated at Veer Vinay Chowk in a special ceremony. Esteemed guests included Mahant Brijanand Maharaj of Gehlapur Temple, Sadar MLA Palturam, Municipal Chairperson Dr. Dhirendra Pratap Singh Dhirhu, and Additional Superintendent of Police Vishal Pandey.

The guests jointly lit the ceremonial lamp to open the event, after which committee president Avinash Mishra expressed gratitude to all attendees. The committee welcomed the guests by presenting them with angavastras (traditional shawls).

Route of Grand Procession and Security Arrangements

The grand procession, organized for the immersion of Ganesh idols, commenced from Veer Vinay Chowk and traversed the city's main thoroughfares. The route passed through Main Chowk, Thatheri Bazaar, Girls College, and Devidayal Tiraha before reaching the Sisai Ghat on the Rapti River.

The enthusiasm of the devotees was palpable, with many dancing to DJ tunes while chanting Lord Ganesh's name. The police administration had implemented stringent security measures to ensure the smooth conduct of this large-scale event. Police personnel were deployed at every corner of the city, with special arrangements made to manage traffic flow effectively.

CO City Abhishek Singh and Nagar Kotwal Santosh Mishra personally oversaw the security arrangements, ensuring no untoward incidents occurred and devotees could express their faith unhindered.

Immersion Rituals at Sisai Ghat

Upon reaching the Sisai Ghat on the Rapti River, where a large crowd had gathered, the Ganesh idols were immersed with full religious rites amidst Vedic chants. This was an emotional moment for the devotees, their eyes reflecting both the sadness of bidding farewell to Bappa and the hope for his return next year.

Local residents bid a heartfelt farewell to Lord Ganesh, invoking him to return the following year with immense reverence and devotion. The entire Ganesh Mahotsav and immersion ceremony was a resounding success due to the tireless efforts and excellent coordination of the committee's office bearers and members, creating a memorable experience for the city's residents.

The success of this year's festival has set a high benchmark for the years to come.
