Ganesh Chaturthi Festival Concludes in Fatehganj Paschimi

The Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which spanned seven days in the town of Fatehganj Paschimi, Bareilly, culminated on Sunday with immense devotion and reverence. Devotees performed the ritualistic immersion of Lord Ganesha's idol at the Langde Baba Ki Marhi temple in Lodhi Nagar.

The festival commenced on Monday with the installation of the Ganesh idol and featured daily special prayers and devotional singing led by Pandit Saurabh Sharma and Pandit Rajiv Sharma. Local residents actively participated in these daily ceremonies.

Grand Procession and Immersion

On the final day, Sunday, after a special puja, the 'prasad' (consecrated food) was distributed. Subsequently, residents organized a grand procession, carrying the idol of Lord Ganesha on a vehicle.

The procession passed through the main markets of the town, with devotees chanting 'Ganpati Bappa Morya' and 'Agle Baras Tu Jaldi Aa' to the beat of drums, filling the entire atmosphere with spirituality. The celebration was further enhanced by a colorful Holi of 'gulal' (colored powder).

The vibrant procession concluded at the Pithupura Ramganga Ghat. Following a final prayer, the idol of Lord Ganesha was immersed in the Ganga River. The main organizers of this event were councilors Mahendra Pal Sharma and Sangeeta Maurya. Hundreds of men and women, including Gaurav Maurya and Sushma Saxena, participated in the immersion procession.

Tight Security Arrangements

Security arrangements were stringent throughout the immersion process. Oadesh Kumar, the outpost in-charge of Fatehganj Paschimi, along with his police team, was present and monitored law and order along the procession route.

The police force maintained a close watch at the Ramganga Ghat to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure the smooth completion of the immersion. This seven-day Ganesh festival not only maintained an atmosphere of religious fervor in the town but also strengthened mutual brotherhood and social unity among the local populace.

Devotees bid farewell to Bappa, praying for his return next year and the continuation of the Ganesh Utsav.
