Cyber Fraud Ring Uncovered in Bareilly

Bareilly District Police have successfully dismantled a major gang involved in fraudulent activities disguised as online gaming. Acting on a tip-off, Bhuta Police apprehended six suspects near Khatehli village who were using fake Aadhar and PAN cards to conceal their identities.

The arrested individuals, identified as Brajesh, Harish Singh, Sumer, Akash, Vipul Kumar Singh, and Pintu, are all residents of the same area. During police interrogation, it was revealed that the gang enticed victims by encouraging them to download gaming apps on various mobile phones, promising substantial profits.

The gang was primarily engaged in earning illicit funds through digital coins. Police suspect that this entire network is connected to an unknown individual who might have thousands of contacts, indicating a sophisticated operation.

Seizure of Cash, Documents, and Digital Equipment

The police operation resulted in a significant seizure of items from the arrested individuals. Recovered items include 20 mobile phones, 44 debit/credit cards, 25 bank passbooks, 30 chequebooks, and ₹4,97,800 in cash.

Additionally, six gold biscuits, a thumb scanner, and 18 crucial land-related documents were confiscated. The sheer volume of these recoveries strongly suggests that this was an organized gang operating on a large scale.

Legal Action and Further Investigation

A case has been registered at the Bhuta Police Station under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Online Gaming Act. The police are actively searching for other members of the gang and for individuals who have been defrauded by them.

The arresting team comprised Sub-Inspector Ramveer Singh Rathi, Ajay Sharma, Rishi Mitra, and the SOG team. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to unravel the entire financial network involved in this operation.
